Two quinces 7"x5" 18x12cm

I found these attractive quinces at my local market. Their primitive look appealed to me and reminded me of some  fruit paintings by 17th century Spanish artists (Sanchez Cotan, Zurbaran ...)
I used a palette knife to give a more modern look.

Ces coings de forme tres primitive achetes au marche de Cherbourg m'ont fait penser aux peintres espagnols du 16eme siecle (Sanchez Cotan, Zurbaran ).  J'ai utilise le couteau a peindre pour donner une touche plus contemporaine  a cette peinture.

    lovely, juicy paint. You have a classical look to these handsome quince as well as a contemporary feel to the paint application.
